Low energy? Procrastination? Boredom?
You might assume it’s due to your ‘lack of discipline”.
So you feel even more terrible, blame yourself, and insist you’ll get it together tomorrow.
But the truth is, if you’ve been dealing with any of the above symptoms
It’s not your fault.
I see it happen to smart, ambitious professionals all the time.
It kills your confidence when you previously thought of yourself as a go-getter.
Now you don’t even remember what day of the week it is
(unless it’s a Friday – obviously!)
What have you become? What’s really going on?!
The real reason this is happening to you?
Lack of purpose
No one can feel motivated or productive about work they don’t care about.
To know if you are suffering from career disillusionment, I’ve compiled a list of symptoms some with a ‘career malfunction’ would experience.
The sooner you identify these symptoms, the sooner you will be able to intervene and sort yourself out.
Here are a few on the list:
– Feelings of boredom
– Foggy unfocused brain
– Lack of opportunities
– Too many ideas, no direction
– Income plateau
– Low confidence
– Procrastination
– Low energy
etc.
If you are suffering from some or all of this you may be suffering from “I don’t know what I am doing with my career” syndrome.
The more it’s left untreated, the worse it’s going to get.
Pretty soon the symptoms will be part of your identity. And at that point it’ll be super hard to change.
How many of these symptoms have you experienced?
