Do Dream Jobs Exist?
We’ve been told that dream jobs don’t exist (“work’s not supposed to be fun!”)
Or that if they do they’re 1 in a million for the lucky ones. Like lottery tickets.
This makes professionals fall into 2 categories
1. PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE GIVEN UP HOPE
This is you if you’re bored in your job but tell yourself “that’s life” and “at least the money’s good.”
You may find yourself counting down minutes until the end of the day so you can go for post-office drinks, plan your weekend or next vacation.
This sounds totally normal because that’s what most people do.
But here’s the harsh reality.
Resigning to this means you’re throwing away 70% of your life for some money.
It’s trading 5 days a week in exchange for 2 days of freedom.
How is that a good deal?
2. PROFESSIONALS WHO TRY TO GET LUCKY
On the other hand, I’ve met a lot of professionals who HAVE A DREAM.
They fully believe one day they will strike it lucky in the career department.
…while doing the exact same things as everyone else.
* Applications for positions that get 100s or 1000s of candidates
* Following various “start a business!” channels
* Doing courses to clear inner blocks or learn manifestation techniques
Oh and I forgot to mention –
Many of the hopefuls are still not clear on what that dream role actually is.
They just maintain hope it will not only dawn on them but that they will also be offered such a position
Or that they will stumble across an idea for a business,
quit their job and get rich
… while traveling.
Sounds silly said like that but you would be surprised how many people don’t realize they’re thinking this way.
Anyway one thing is clear –
Dream jobs and businesses don’t just fall into your lap.

We’ve been told we need to study hard,
get a foot in the door,
prove ourselves at work,
climb the ladder,
write nice CVs
and use outdated, ineffective methods
